Recognizing the positive influence the practice has had on my life, off of the mat, has made me want to share the benefits of Yoga with others. In 2013, I completed my 200 hour teaching certification at Healing Waters. My dedication to a daily practice continues to grow. Ashley is a Buffalo native who spent 3 years in India & Asia training in Yoga, Meditation, Plant & Energy Medicine. She has been practicing yoga & meditation since 2012. She offers private meditation & integrated energy healing sessions as well as herbalism and sacred plant medicine. Before her time in India she was a student of Yoga in Syracuse, NY and studied various forms of modern styles including Hatha, Vinyasa and Arial Yoga.
“In India I was trained in many styles of traditional Yoga under the Bihar school including meditations, chanting, and ritual practices preserved for 1000’s of years. In the states I found my love for the less rigid intuition based forms of flow, movement, and healing. My style in all that I do, as an artist, a healing facilitator, and a teacher is based on integration of the modern into the traditional. I’ve found that fusing what is known from tradition with what calls to our individual souls creates a path to wholeness that is raw, authentic, and nourishing. This is the path I want to help each of my students learn to carve out for themselves”
Ashley also studies Folk Herbalism and practices an integration of Reiki and Plant Spirit Medicine. “It’s very easy to look at plants to replace our medicine cabinets. But what I want to help others understand is that it’s more than asking “what can this plant do for me, what’s it good for?”. Plant Medicine is about creating relationships with the Plants that heal us, the soil they grow in, and the Earth that holds us. It’s about healing our connection with the Earth and the planet. And It’s about changing the way we see our place in all of that”
Ashley teaches the All Level Yoga class on Thursday 7:30-8:45pm
